PATNA: As many as 50,000 elementary teachers are likely to be appointed in the fourth phase of teachers’ recruitment.
This was indicated by state additional chief secretary K K Pathak on Friday while interacting with the DElEd (diploma in elementary education) trainees at Madhubani. He said more than 50,000 vacancies are to be announced for DElEd trained candidates in the fourth phase of teachers’ recruitment.
Adequate number of secondary and higher secondary teachers are also to be appointed in the fourth phase.
Only DElEd trained candidates can take to the teacher recruitment examination for appointments in classes I to V, while both BEd and DElEd candidates can take the recruitment test for appointments in classes VI to VIII. But, only BEd trained candidates are eligible for secondary and higher secondary classes.
The third phase of the teachers’ recruitment exam is to be conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) in March and after that the teachers recruitment in the fourth phase in scheduled in the month of August, said official sources.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the number of attempts for qualifying the eligibility test for contthe teachers is likely to be enhanced to five. However, the education department has not issued any notification in this regard.
